Treat is with these April gardening events:

Spring Plant Sale

The Northwest Louisiana Master Gardeners will hold their spring plant sale from 8 a.m. to noon April 11 at the Randle T. Moore Center, corner of Kings Highway and Fairfield Avenue, Shreveport.  Plants available will include hydrangeas, Louisiana irises, angel’s trumpets and morning glory tree. A plant clinic will be conducted by LSU AgCenter horticulturist Jennifer Williams. Admission: free. Info: 318-698-0010.

Spring-Fest 2015

The Northeast Louisiana Master Gardeners will hold their seventh annual spring plant sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 11 at Market at 7th Square, 1700 Seventh St., Monroe. A preview sale will be held from noon to 6 p.m. April 10. Featured will be Louisiana Super Plants, herbs, vegetables, butterfly garden plants, annuals, perennials and ornamental shrubs. Admission: free.

Spring Open House

Garrison’s Greenwood Gardens will hold planting demonstrations by nursery staff. Admission: free. Info: 318-635-6296.

Spring Plant Sale

The Stephen F. Austin Mast Arboretum Spring Plant Sale will be begin at 9 a.m. April 11 at the Pineywoods Nature Center, 2900 Raguet St., Nacogdoches, Texas.  Admission: free. Info and plant list: http://www.sfagardens.sfasu.edu.

Spring Garden Show

The New Orleans Botanical Garden will hold its Spring Garden Show from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 11 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 12 at 3 Victory Drive, New Orleans. Featured will be horticultural exhibits, lectures, plant and garden product sales, music and children’s activities. The Art of Container Gardening

Kim Liles, owner/manager of Louisiana Nursery, will lead a hands-on workshop on container gardening all day April 18. Bring or buy a container and choose the plants you’d like. Cost is for material you select. Admission: free. Info: 318-925-0971 or www.louisianasnursery.com.

Farm to Fork with Shreveport Green

Shreveport Green staffers will be on hand April 25 beginning at 10:30 a.m. to demonstrate healthy cooking techniques and recipes. Admission: free. Info: 318-635-6296.

Rose care

A workshop and training session on rose care and how to evaluate and assess roses conducted by Baxter Williams will be held at 1 p.m. April 25 at the Gardens of the American Rose Center, 8877 Jefferson Paige Road, Shreveport. Admission: free. Info: 318-983-5402.

Jolis Jardins

Jolis Jardins, a Garden Tour, will be presented by the Ruston Garden Club from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 25. Three gardens will be featured, along with a garden market and complimentary lunch. Admission: $10. Info: rustongardenclub@gmail.com.
