Tip of the Day — June 12

You have about a month to finish up any needed pruning of spring-blooming shrubs, such as azaleas, hydrangeas and gardenias. Wait till later than mid-July and you’ll cut off next year’s blooms. Flowering shrubs don’t have to be cut back every year, though, so make sure you know why you are trimming before you grab the pruners.
