Tip of the Day — Aug. 5

If annuals like impatiens, begonias and periwinkles  are getting leggy, sparse and overgrown,  trim them back by one-third to one-half and give them a shot of fertilizer.  They’ll look bad for a while, but in a few weeks, you’ll have bushier  plants that will be attractive up to frost.
